Panic Disorder

Individuals who have panic disorders say that they experience 13 symptoms, including trembling, palpitations, and sweating. These complications happen to manifest as acute bouts in the initial phases of the disorder, followed by continuing anticipatory anxiety alongside panic attacks. Research suggests general vulnerability, personality traits, stress, and certain abnormalities in some brain areas as the likely factors that contribute to panic disorder.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder

The issue comes with too much and continuous worry or anxiety, which is tough to manage. These issues interfere with one’s daily routine. Individuals with generalized anxiety disorder experience the following issues.

  • Thinking too much; and,

While the patients are usually engrossed in some kind of worry right through the day, it continues to change and largely has to do with trivial matters. Some of the causative factors in it are genetics, biochemical factors, personality, and certain traumatic experiences.

Psychotherapy, plus pharmacological management are part of the treatment for it. Relaxation techniques and short-term CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) techniques are two of the psychotherapy options for it. Individuals with GAD require some anxiety relief drugs alongside psychological strategies such as relaxation exercises, meditation, yoga, cognitive-behavioral programs, and lifestyle steps.

Social Phobia

It is a fear of communicating with other people. People with social phobia constantly, irrationally and intensely worry about being judged, rejected or looked down upon in social scenarios, which causes them to avoid these situations. When social phobia patients cannot avoid the situation, they are likely to have panic attacks. Scientists are yet to know the precise reason for social phobia. Still, they indicate that genetics, negative experiences like bullying, dysfunctional families, and sexual abuse, plus psychosocial factors may cause it.

Treatment mainly involves psychotherapy options like CBT, relaxation techniques, and systematic desensitization. Some social phobia patients who report too much fear may need to use medicine to manage anxiety.

Separation Anxiety Disorder

SAD comes with too much fear about being separated from either family members or things one feels very attached to. It is a usual phase of growth for not just infants but also toddlers. While young kids tend to experience separation anxiety spells, nearly all of them grow too big for it.

Doctors would diagnose it as a form of disorder if the anxiety becomes prolonged or intense, and if it interferes with daily life or school activities. Some of the common symptoms of it are as follows.

  • Too much worry over losing a family member or parent owing to a disease
  • An inkling that some bad event is imminent, like being kidnapped or lost
  • Being separated from family members
  • Continuous refusal of staying outside of home owing to the separation-related fear
  • Hesitance to sleep somewhere other than home without family members close by
  • Regular nightmares regarding separation
  • Regularly whining about stomach aches, headaches or other issues when being separated from a family member is expected

Treatment includes CBT, to aid the kid in learning how to cope with and face their fears about separation, plus pharmacology (occasionally).


It is a form of the disorder where the individual fears and stays away from situations or locations that might make them not just panicked but also feel trapped. Some individuals with agoraphobia experience a form of panic disorder as well. They are likely to feel very restless, palpitations, nervous, breathing issues, fear of either losing control or passing away, lightheadedness, sweating and so forth. Temperament, traumatic experiences, and personality are likely to contribute to agoraphobia.

CBD is part of treatment for agoraphobia because it is a more efficacious therapy option for it than all others. Some agoraphobia patients who experience panic attacks may also require pharmacotherapy.
